The Sun and the Moon (Reggae Version)
The Sun and the Moon (Reggae Version)
The sun rose like always, it still doesn’t know
The moon keeps its secrets so close.
She left near midnight, she said her goodbye
I hope the sun never knows.
Driving thru small towns the sign posts pass by
She never thinks she will slow
Smoky cold morning my heart in my hand
I hope the sun never knows
Monochrome sunset my life, shades of grey
All but the memories fade
Living without her the emptiness grows
Shimmering teardrops stay.
Friends try to help me they tell me I’m fine
They don’t know I just can’t breathe
Lifetimes in seconds the blink of her eye
Memories only deceive.

On my Shadow album we did a reggae version of “Demon Wings” from my first album. The reason we did that is because I had a fever dream while sick with Covid and all I could hear in my mind was my first album with all the songs done in a reggae style. On the new album when I was worried that we didn’t have enough songs for a complete album I decided to redo Sun and the Moon in a reggae style. The session musicians are so good I knew it would sound great. It’s a really simple song to play and it’s actually easier to sing this version than the original.
