This is the first totally original co-write that we did with Kate. I had the progression already and we worked on this in our living room with Kate. The first effort we had on this was working with Kate’s suggestion that “it’s a good day for a good day”, which is something that one of the teachers says in her school that Kate teaches at. We quickly changed it to the current form. It’s a very bouncy, happy song! All 3 of us think it could be used in TV commercials. Leslie’s most important contribution to this song was the line, “I’m flying high!”. That line makes the song. I like what Fred did with the band in the studio, especially the stops near the end. Alissa’s fiddle is the key instrument here, and she really shines!
